Gas, Induction & Electric Cooktops
Cooktops are generally paired with wall ovens and providing the homeowner with a more upscale contemporary look than a traditional range. While generally not as powerful as they cousin the range or the rangetop, cooktops can provide much more flexibility in terms of layout and design.
At Signature Kitchens, we know that cooking fresh and nutritious food is so important to your family’s health. A gas or induction cooktop like a Wolf can help the food you cook achieve it’s highest potential, unleashing the gourmet chef inside of you that’s been yearning to break out. Induction, Gas or Electric there are options for every situation.
The quality of the tools in your kitchen impact not only the look and design of the kitchen, but also how you use it and how it functions. Cooktops usually have control knobs on the surface while burner configurations vary in design and power. In addition to showcasing traditional cast-iron flair, these gas cooktops are available with many convenient features, such as additional griddles, drip plates, task-specific burners and more, providing a massively upgraded version of a traditional kitchen staple.
May the Electromagnetic force be with you Induction Cooktop
Don’t have gas? Fear not, induction power is a preferred choice of today’s chef. Using magnets to create a magnetic field that interacts directly with your cookware, wasted energy in the form of excess heat is a thing of the past. Extremely energy efficient, they’ve long been a favorite of Europe due to their sky high energy prices. In Florida its tough to find a home that has gas. We love induction because you get the power and control of gas with out needing to install a tank.
Do you need “special” cookware, yes, but its more common than you’d think. Cast Iron is good to go as is most high end pots and pans, think All-Clad. But there is a surprising number of mid-tier cookware brands that are making their products induction friendly. To see if your cookware can work with a professional induction range get a magnet and see if it sticks. If yes then you’re ready to go, if not we’ve got you covered there to. You may not need to buy new cookware, but you’ll need to come see us to learn the secret.
The Top of a Range :) Rangetops
Rangetops are exactly that! The top burner section of a range sans the oven. The main difference between cooktops and range tops are cooktops are completely surrounded by countertop where as a rangetop is going to have a front panel where the controls are.
Rangetops tend to be more powerful than their cooktop cousins and come with options like griddles and charbroilers (though we don’t recommend a charbroiler in Florida less you’d like a visit from your local fire department due to a kitchen full of smoke!).
